Evaluation of Awareness about Electronic Waste and Concern for the Environment in Tayma Governorate, Tabuk Region, Saudi Arabia

This study was carried out to evaluate the people’s awareness level about electronic waste (e-waste) disposal and management practices as well their impact on environment, also provides recommendations for moving forward this problem in Tayma governorate, KSA. The data work were collected during distribution of 96 questionnaires householders governmental organizations (municipality health sector). Likert Scale used analysis participants. results exhibited that are low or medium various degrees e-waste environment there is no formal informal sector governorate. participants reported they use all home appliances, computers, laptops Mobile phone more than double equipment disposed past 10 years, which increases e-waste. responses from governorate's municipality revealed a large number people (from 68% 88%) did not know person company could collect electronics reuse, resale, recycling, dismantling; unaware any policies currently place Tayma; very perception public laws control exposure. Also, hazards growing amount must be support unorganized sector’s role (while providing safer practices). They added, companies general population complied with found priority government individual levels now. Finally, said vision 2030 Kingdom Saudi Arabia gives full attention problem. needs information rules regulation management.
